शिक्षा पर सेमिनार

मित्रों जैसा आपको मालूम है की इस ब्लॉग का उद्देश्य यही हे की सृजनशील शिक्षको को आगे लाकर शिक्षा के पवित्र उद्देश्यों को प्राप्त करना है | इसी क्रम में आप सभी का ध्यान एक सेमिनार के घोषणा पर दिलाना चाहता हूँ |ये सेमिनार Distance Education Programme , Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (DEP-SSA) २३-२४ मार्च को आयोजित किया जाना है इसकी समूर्ण जानकारी निम्नाकंकित है |

About DEP-SSA

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is a national programme of Government of India to promote Universalisation of Quality Elementary Education. The Distance Education Programme (DEP-SSA) is a national component created by MHRD, GOI on July 1, 2003 for providing need based support to state SSA functionaries through technology mediated learning. Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) the apex institution in the field of Open Distance Learning (ODL) shoulder the responsibility to implement distance learning interventions across the country to meet the training and learning needs of states at elementary level. The DEP-SSA at national level aims at capacity building of functionaries such as teachers, teacher educators, block resource center coordinators, VECs, SMCs and evolves a sustainable training system through ODL mode.

About the Theme

Recurrent training of teachers and ensuring quality of teacher education programmes is a real challenge for implementers at elementary level. Social collaboration may contribute to continuous professional development of teachers and other functionaries. Technology mediated social networking among teachers and other stakeholders are essential to facilitate the capacity building activities at all levels. The Right To Education (RTE) Act attaches immense significance to the role of teachers in improving quality of elementary education by making available professionally trained teachers. Within a period of five years all teachers would need to acquire the required academic and professional qualifications. As we all know that teacher preparation is very essential for improving learning of children and overall quality of education. It is important to ensure that pre-service training is strengthened with appropriate technology mediated learning through collaborations at all levels. RTE Act also focuses on annual in-service training of teachers, to enable them to continuously upgrade their knowledge and teaching skills. The purpose and process of teacher education must be aligned to the objectives of elementary education as articulated in NPE 1986 & POA 1992; NCF 2005 & RTE Act 2010.

Respecting experiences of children and local knowledge is essential for facilitating learning of children. Each state must develop long term in-service teacher development plan with necessary parameters like periodicity, content, methodology and medium/means etc. The training design must integrate content, pedagogy, material, and resources of a particular concept effectively and meaningfully. Hence, is the necessity to empower teachers and teacher educators to make use of technology meaningfully for sustainable teacher preparation programmes through ODL mode under SSA & RTE. The main focus of DEP-SA is to evolve a sustainable training system through blended approach for addressing state specific needs at grassroots levels associated with education of children at elementary level. Considering the importance & necessity to contribute to quality improvement mission at elementary level with design and development of a sustainable system for capacity building activities, DEP-SSA, IGNOU is organizing a national seminar on Teacher Education through Open Distance Learning in the Context of Right To Educationduring March 23-24, 2011.

Objectives

The main objectives of this national seminar are to:

1.Develop strategic plan of action (Framework) for improving quality of education at elementary school level through open distance learning mode.

2.identify appropriate skills and competencies required for empowering teachers and other SSA functionaries in providing meaningful education to children at elementary level.

3.develop appropriate Learning Management System (LMS) in support of recurrent capacity building of teachers in general and other SSA functionaries in particular under SSA & RTE.

4.documentation and sharing of innovative practices in teacher education programmes (In-service) as a part of capacity building activities under SSA.

5.promote technology enhanced collaborations for developing social networking among teachers , teacher educators at national, state, district and block levels for strengthening capacity building activities through ODL mode under SSA & RTE.

Sub-Themes

  1. Innovative teacher preparation programmes for capacity building of varied categories of teachers in the context of SSA & RTE
  2. Technology-mediated learning for reaching the unreached to achieve the goals of universalisation of quality elementary education.
  3. Technology enhanced collaboration for promoting teacher education programmes under RTE
  4. Capacity building of teachers and other functionaries at elementary school level through Open Education Resources (OER)
  5. Learning Management Systems to address pedagogical issues in the context of SSA and RTE
  6. Sharing of good practices as a part of capacity building activities to support sustainable teacher preparation programmes at different levels.
  7. Research, impact & feedback studies in the areas of capacity building of SSA functionaries at elementary level.

Call of Papers

We welcome original papers especially prepared for this national seminar. Full papers of 10-15 pages (not more than 3500 words) with a separate abstract (150-200 words) typed in both sides indicating title, theme, address, contact no, e.mail ID etc. must be submitted on or before March 10, 2011. Papers must be written and presented in English/Hindi. Contributors are required to send full papers through speed post/courier/e.mail to the Project Director, DEP-SSA, IGNOU, Block 7, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110 068

Selection of Papers

Papers will be screened by a duly constituted screening committee comprised of a group of experts. Priority will be given to research based papers and related to case studies, experimentations and innovations in the field of capacity building of functionaries associated with education of children at elementary school level under specified themes as mentioned.

Traveling Allowances

TA will be paid (not exceeding III AC Railway Fare) to participants whose papers will be selected by the screening committee for presentation in the seminar. Intimation to authors of selected papers will be sent separately. Incase a paper is written by two or more authors, provision of TA and accommodation shall be made for only one author.

Accommodation

Accommodations, if required shall be provided to the outstation participants with prior intimation to the organizer only for the author of selected paper.
